SiteCheck Pro Classroom is a standards-based website evaluation platform designed for web-design education. It analyzes student-built websites, identifies observable evidence of technical skills, and helps teachers evaluate student progress against official curriculum requirements.
How Classroom Works
1. Register Student Websites
Teachers associate each student with the published website they are developing, allowing individual progress to be evaluated throughout the course.
2. Analyze Website Evidence
SiteCheck Pro examines the website and identifies technical evidence relevant to the applicable web-design curriculum standards.
3. Verify Student Competencies
Teachers review evidence and confirm completed standards. Skills requiring explanation, demonstration, or human judgment remain under teacher control.
4. Track Learning Progress
Students check their website progress. Meaningful changes can notify teachers when a fresh evaluation is appropriate. Teacher-confirmed accomplishments are preserved.
Standards-Based Evaluation
The initial implementation supports Florida's 89 official web-design curriculum standards. Classroom connects observable website evidence to relevant standards while distinguishing technical findings from competencies requiring teacher verification.
The platform is designed for expansion to additional states through a shared competency framework mapped to each state's official curriculum requirements.
A Dashboard Designed for Teachers
Completed: Standards the teacher has reviewed and accepted.
Evidence Available: Standards with observable website evidence awaiting teacher review.
Needs Teacher Verification: Standards requiring assessment beyond automated website inspection.
Student Improvement and Re-Evaluation
Classroom supports continuous learning rather than relying exclusively on a final assignment. Students can check for meaningful changes to their published websites.
When new progress is detected, teachers can initiate another website evaluation, examine updated evidence, and establish a new progress baseline without discarding previously confirmed work.
Canvas LMS Integration
Canvas integration using LTI 1.3 is in development. The planned integration is intended to connect Classroom's teacher and student evaluation workflows with existing Canvas learning environments.
